Katalin Hetey's work is known to the Hungarian public primarily for her three-dimensional sculptures, made in the last decades of her life, with a clear, mobile formal language. Most of her work in this country was in the form of geometric steel blocks and sculptures bent from copper plate, although her rich artistic career on the Paris-Zurich-Budapest axis began with a long and persistent period of painting.
