István Halas has been involved in fine art and photography since the early seventies. He has been a freelance photographer since 1979. He has worked extensively as a staff member of the Liget Gallery. He was involved in the launch of the Bolt Gallery. President of the United Images Association and past president of the N&n Gallery Foundation. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Artists and the Association of Hungarian Photographers, and of the Art Council of the House of Hungarian Photographers.
