LÁSZLÓ MULASICS (1954 - 2001)
Solstice
1992
oil, encaustic on canvas
90x80 cm
László Mulasics left the figurative painting in 1986 and began experimenting with geometric shapes. He begins to experiment with the wax techniques used in antiquity, especially encaustics. From the 90s onwards, his subjects also evoke the traditions of ancient times. The work Solstice combines all three: geometric shapes and archaic signs, deep dark colours that suggest secrets and simplified mystical moments, and the encausal wax technique.
